July 2005 Brooklyn International Film Festival Continues to Grow |
Lowel Light was a proud sponsor of the 8th annual Brooklyn International Film Festival, which ran in early June, 2005.
Set at the beautifully renovated Brooklyn Museum, the festival screened over 150 entries in various film & video formats over its 10 day run. The films were selected out of over 1750 submissions from around the world, and ran the full gamut from experimental shorts, to documentaries, to animations, and full length features. Lowel donated 2 of their versatile location lighting kits to be awarded to the winners of the Short Film & Documentary categories, as well as sponsoring the Diane Seligman Award, a grant to the Documentary winner of the festival, "The Price of Letter" (yi khel gi kawa) by Director Ugyen Wangdi, Bhutan, 2004.
Director Ugyen Wangdi The Diane Seligman Award is intended to reward, support, and encourage the next generation of inspired documentary filmmakers, in memory of Diane Seligman, a beautiful person who celebrated life in the way she lived. And for all those who knew Diane and in whom she lives. For complete information on the Brooklyn International Film Festival, visit http://brooklynfilmfestival.org/overview/. |
