Lowel Light have remade their website, www.lowel.com, from the bottom
up and the result is an easy to use, informative & thorough
presentation of Lowels legendary product line, that is optimized for
speedy performance.
Now its equally easy for the emerging professional and the seasoned veteran to find the information they seek on all aspects of Lowels lights, controls, mounts, & kits, plus then growing family of studio fluorescent equipment & accessories. "We spent a lot of time developing the navigation for this site." said Lowel Director of Communications, Duane Sherwood. "We have an extensive product line & it could quickly become a confusing experience to maneuver thru. We thought a lot about what our users would want to see at each juncture, and we're pretty happy with how it's all turned out." For example, if you are just starting to research what kind of lights you need, click on the "Overview of Lighting Systems" (tungsten or fluorescent) to see a side by side presentation of all systems, comparing size, max. wattage, quality & character, etc. Whereas, if you already know which system you're interested in, you can go directly there from the home page. Visiting the separate page for each light will not only give its features, specs & performance data, but will also allow you to see what kits the light is available in, what cases it fits into, what stands it can use & what accessories are available for it. In addition to Light Systems, each of the other main categories on the Home Page (Light Controls, Mounts, Cases, and Kits) has its own overview page that gives introductory information on the types of equipment offered in that section. This can help put things into perspective when deciding what best suits your needs now, and later down the road. While the most current information is available and printable from the site, visitors can also download the most recent printed catalog, in full length or by chapters, get a consumer price list, or parts book, all in PDF form by visiting the downloads page. This is only the beginning. Future plans include the development of an educational component with a number of resources to help Lowel users further their knowledge & understanding of lighting craft & technique. |
