Lowel Wins 2002 PhotoPlus Expo Vision Award for IR DMX Controller & IR DMX Translator

IR DMX Translator (L), IR DMX Controller (R)
Lowel Light has been honored with a 2002 Vision Award at the PhotoPlus Expo show in New York City, for their innovative IR DMX Controller & IR DMX Translator.

The Vision Awards were created “to acknowledge innovative, trend-setting and creative new imaging products and services” on display at the 2002 PhotoPlus Expo which ran from October 31st to November 2nd at the Javits Center in New York City. Exhibitors were asked to submit products in 16 categories and a panel made up of Don Franz, (Publisher, "Photo Imaging News"), Reuel Golden, (Editor, "PIX Magazine"), Joseph R. Meehan (Technical & New Products Editor, "Photo District News") and Andrew Rodney selected the winners.

The IR DMX Controller & IR DMX Translator combine to allow DMX control of up to 512 DMX dimmable devices, without need of a console. The Controller, a handheld unit the size of a deck of cards, sends IR commands to the Translator which passes them on to the connected DMX chain. Devices can be grouped in up to 10 storable scenes, and recalled to create specific lighting 'looks'.

The IR DMX Controller can also send dimming commands to up to 64 Lowel Fluo-Tec dimmable fluorescent fixtures, without the need of the Translator.
