Talk Show Set
This set has a host desk as well as seating for 3 guests. An arc of 6 evenly spaced fixtures warp around the set from the front, evenly lighting the entire area. This way, guests entering & exiting the set do not step into dark areas. A single soft key fixture is directed to the host. Each seat for host or guest also has a fixture above & behind as a backlight to separate them from the background & give a sense of depth. The background is lit by 4 evenly spaced fixtures with barndoors to trim spill. Using dimmable fixtures is a plus because it allows you to strike the right contrast balance between back lights and background lights.
All fixtures on the host / guests have intensifiers with honeycomb grids as front accessories. Intensifiers increase output and compensate for light loss of the honeycomb grids, which are used in varying strengths to limit spill.
The below listed fixtures are chosen for a studio with 9-11 ft ceiling heights. To light from higher placed lighting grids, it may be necessary to use more powerful fixtures.
