Stand Accessories
|
Stand Accessories attach directy to the stand to extend their versatility. Full & Half Poles can occasionally be used on their own, but just as often they are combined with stands. |
The combination of Stands, Poles, Stand Accessories, and Clamps, can help you to mount a light innovatively to help more creatively light your shot. See the Clamps & Mounts section for more information on how these tools interconnect and work together. |
![]() Rocky Mountain Leg
The Lowel Grand Stand has a versatile accessory built in, the Rocky Mountain Leg. One leg has the ability to extend longer, allowing the stand to retain vertical balance in uneven settings. This can be valuable when lighting on staircases or rocky mountains. |
Full & Half Poles
They have many uses, from booming lights, to extending the height of larger stands, to building backdrop rigs. When working with poles, always be sure to add sufficient weight to counter balance booms or secure stand base. Also, for most stable use, try not to use the full length of the pole sections. |
![]() Lowel Weights
Designed to rest on the stand struts or attach to the back end of the Full or Half Pole in a boom setup (described in the Booms & Rigs section). Placing weights at the base of a stand is a good safety measure, especially if you are using stands near their full height or using Full or Half Poles for increasing the height. |
![]() Ceiling Link
With two Poles, Ceiling Link can span from floor to ceiling to mount lights closer to a wall than a stand. The Ceiling Link has two parts. A receiver that attaches onto the top stud of the Poles, and stud that fits into the base of the Poles. Both have suction cups. Add an Interlink at top between Pole & Ceiling Link to mount a light. |
Anchors
For exteriors where the stand is on turf, the Grand Stand, KS, and KSA, stands can be 'spiked' through holes in their legs. When you aren't able to transport weights or sandbags, spiking the stand to the ground can be a light weight and portable solution. |
![]() Casters
Casters with locking wheels can also be attached to the leg holes on Grand Stand, KS, and KSA, stands. They make the lighting fixture easy to roll around hard floor interiors. Lock the wheel by pressing down on the side lever. |
