Grip Clamp
Grip
Grip
This versatile heavy-duty clamp attaches to stands, poles, pipes, 2" x 4"s etc. to support lights with Interlink, or Double Male Stud. It makes a boom out of a Stand and Pole, and tilts 180° & pans 360°.

Setting Up a Boom with Stand & Pole
Setting Up a Boom with Stand & Pole
After securely attaching the Grip to the 5/8" stud on the stand, place the Pole in the grooves of the Grip & tighten the Locking Knob (as shown). Do not overtighten, as you may crush the Pole riser tube.

Balancing the Boom
Balancing the Boom
Find a middle ground balance point based on the weight of the light, length of Pole, & number of Lowel Weights needed. Loosen Tilt Control slightly, test balance, & retighten. Always position boom over a stand leg.
2 Grips & 2 Stands
2 Grips & 2 Stands
A pair of Grips and suitable stands can be used to support 1x2 or 2x4's or up to 2" pipe cross pieces, for mounting lights or supporting backgrounds. This is commonly called a goal post configuration.

Versatile Mounting
The two stud positions are shown. If you look closely you can see a piece of doubled up GafferÕs tape being used under the jaws of the clamp to protect the shelf.
Installing on Dropped Ceiling
Tota Clamp used with Flexi-shaft
2 Flexi-shafts can be attached to the Flexi-locks on the clamp. Flexi-shafts have a fixed end for the clamp and a rotating end to attach a flag or reflector for versatility in positioning.
Tota Clamp, Flexi-shafts & Tota-flags
Tota Clamp, Flexi-shafts & Tota-flags
Placing two Tota-flags on Flexi-shafts, away from the light and closer to the subject, gives the shadow edges of the flags more definition.

The part of the sheet music being shaded by the left flag is further away so the shadow edge is slightly softer. In this case the Pro-light with the flags is being used to add a lighting accent to a shot, to add an increased sense of depth & visual interest.
Flagging Lens Flare
Flagging Lens Flare
Clamped the tripod, the Tota-clamp, flexi-shaft and Tota-flag are shading the camera lens from flare.
