At the age of 16, I just knew that i wanted to be a sound tech, working in a studio or in live production, but always in music; and I did it. I spend that year doing small gigs here in Spain as monitor tech. At 17, I found a small club near my place looking for sound & lighting tech and I took the job. I was there for 9 years. When I started I didn't know anything about lights but at the end lighting was my life. Suddently the "image" become more important for me than sound, so I brought an Apple Computer and I started to play with images (photo and video). Back then, everything was film and Hi-8 video. Then I worked for 6 years as a photographer / graphic designer, until working in motion pictures "bit me". And now, here I am. I'm 34 and I work directing video clips. I never took a lighting, computer, design, or film class in my whole life. I use Lowel equipment exclusively. City & country: Madrid, Spain www.blotchmovies.com |

Using the Rifa eXchange 88 |

Equipment Used: I try to make the process of shooting as easy as I can. Lowel allows me that. Since I discovered Rifa (incredibly portable!) I don't want to use any other lights. I love it!! It's amazing that with just 2 Rifa EX 88's and 2 Pro-light's I can light & shoot a video clip. And I can walk to the location with all my equipment! In my latest video clip (shown in the photos), I used one Rifa EX 88 on top of the singer, one in front of her at her right as a fill light and one or two (depending on the shot) Pro-lights as backlight. And that's it! We're in the middle of the editing but the results are stunning.
